    Browser Hijack
    « on: December 03, 2009, 06:28:48 AM »
I just upgraded to Windows 7 when going onto google then going to a link it then goes to another location.  when running combofix and malware bytes then avg nothing found but still same issue even in safe mode.

I have run hijackthis but and went through the self help but cant see anything that would cause this I am not even sure how this has got on my computer as all I did was upgrade to windows 7 it is a real copy and real key used.  My brother was on computer so might have been on some sites?

    Any help thanks

      Update

I thought I would check the host files when trying to acccess these I could not.  I managed to copy for another computer the host files and then run another scan it then managed to fins a fake svhost now removed and computer working again.

Sorry I thought this was fixed but some times I still getting a pop up from site that dont have pop ups.  I have scanned again but found another host file its almost like when I remove it manages to re add itself?

Hello smoosh and welcome to Computer Hope Forum. My name is Superdave but you can just call me SD. I will be helping you out with your particular problem on your computer. I am working under the guidance of one of the specialist of this forum so it may take a bit longer to process your logs.

      1. I will be working on your Malware issues. This may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.
      2. The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
      3. If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to ask.
      4. Please DO NOT run any other tools or scans while I am helping you.
      5. It is important that you reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
      6. Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe.
      7. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.

The first thing I will need you to do is to go to this link and follow the directions precisely.  I will need the SuperAntiSpyware, MBAM and a new HJT logs.
