Two options on boot up of PC
« on: December 01, 2009, 08:14:12 PM »
Hello I popped in the windows cd one day hoping to recovery console it.. i musta done something but before the windows xp load screen, I am asked to choose between two options : Windows XP or Windows XP Setup.  Is there a way I can delete the Windwos XP setup so that it automatically just boots up from the first option?? ( I have to move the highlight up for the Windows XP option.)  THanks in advance,

-sam

    Right click on My Computer
    select Properties
    select Advanced tab
click the Settings button in Start up and Recovery
select the start up option you want from the drop down menu
    click OK

That should do it for you.

Run msconfig. On the boot.ini tab delete the entry you no longer need.
