    Laptop Hard Drive
    « on: December 04, 2009, 08:30:34 AM »
Tries to boot up very slowly, then shows blue screen.

Methods i have tried: (All Have Failed)
    1. Attach HD to another computer via external enclosure; you can see the files for about five seconds, then the computer freezes up.
    2. Spoke will dell, performed different tests that all failed, for example boot to windows xp os disk, do a Chkdsk /p via a repair, then chkdsk would just repeat over and over.
    3. Slave Drive
    4. Had two tecks try to get the data using software, and other methods.

Any other suggestions besides the ones i have tried above? This is 7 Years of data that i would like to get back.

    Thanks

    Sounds like its toasted......

Have you tried to go to the manufacture's web site and down load the hard drive tools for your drive? Sometimes there tools have a utility to "fix" the drive.

You will have to burn them to a cd and boot from it.
