blue pixelation on white areas

This is a problem that just started today. Almost all the white space on my screen is being pixelated in light blue/aqua. It started with a thin line running down the screen and proceeded to cover almost all white areas in a few minutes (start menu, web browser, desktop, etc).

Thing is, I just bought this computer, new, a little over a week ago.  I have installed a few things that I've used before (Firefox, VLC, Winrar, iTunes) and my web surfing hasn't been out of the ordinary.

I'd very much appreciate any insight on this problem.
