    AMD Sempron and Intel Driver Compatibility

    I'm attempting to install Windows XP and have a Compaq Presario SR1910NX computer with an AMD Sempron 32000 processor. When setup gets to 'loading Intel IDE bus drivers' it hangs up there and the install won't go any further. Why? Does this have anything to do with  AMD Sempron and Intel Driver Compatibility.

    What kind of installation disk; the one that came with the Compaq Presario SR1910NX?

      No, the installation disk came with a Gateway computer of mine that was fried, and had an Intel Processor.
      (I may have just answered my own question)

      Most manuf. XP CD's will only work on the machine they shipped with...
