How to remove desktop icons?
« on: December 20, 2009, 03:47:43 AM »
XP Professional.

I have installed a number of applications while logged in as administrator.
At the question about "this user only" or "all users", I clicked "all users".
Now I created a new "limited" user.
The desktop for this new user has icons for the applications previously installed.
When I try to delete those icons I get the message "Cannot delete . . . . . etc etc".
Even if I change the new user to "administrator" I still cannot delete the icons.

Maybe I must change the applications to be single user instead of all, but how to do this without uninstalling and re-installing?

Have you looked in this folder? When logged in as administrator?

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
