Is AVAST still Free?

Is AVAST still Free?
It gave me a pop=up today and said I have to buy it in 11 days from now.
Is that true?
This link says it is free.

The site says you have to register it. Did you do that? Other than that it does still appear to be free.

You need to register with a valid e-mail addy and repeat the process every year....

AVAST is coming out with version 5 in 2010. And yes, you can still grab the free edition, which is still very good.

A friend of mine uses Avast. He has never registered it though. Every time it expires, he just uninstalls it and reinstalls it and gets a new license.

Why uninstalling and reinstalling so many times? It would be easier to get a key once a year instead of uninstalling after 60 days.

I know. I've tried explaining that to him, but he just thinks it's easier this way. 

He's um... not exactly what I'd call a normal person. Really.
