We are trying to figure out what this guy is talking about.
He says something about having 2 logins for the internet
"If you are using anything similar for your ISP as you are using for your Internet logins, then security isn't very good."
Don't know what they are talking about, because we have a username and password that we had to enter in when setting up the Internet to work.
He also said something about having a LAN. See, we are trying to figure out still what is going on with sites I use, my information getting all messed up and getting my mom's information somehow. Then when I mentioned how we are setup, here is another thing they said to-
"Having your LAN set up like that is a lot more serious when it comes to security."
Another thing they said is this:
"Having the sharing of printer and files on each other's computers can allow any malware to attack the whole network. Logging onto the Internet with one password and username makes it even easier."
Which before we did all this, we were told that it would be Ok to do this. Currently like on my mom's computer if I look under Network Connections, here is some of the stuff it lists:
Under the section that says LAN or High-Speed Internet
There are 2 things
1. 1394 Net Adapter
2. Local Area Connection
Intel(R) Pro/100 VE Network Connection
Both also have Firewalled next to them
The modem and router are both on my computer and wired through the attic out to my mom's computer.
