Whenever you re-install/format ALL drivers need to be re-installed...
MBoard Chipset drivers go 1st...followed by all others.

If you don't have the original drivers cd that came with the pc, all of the drivers should be found at http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp?cmpid=topnav

The normal vendor driver should work, however I've found some systems need the SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC to play sounds (http://download.cnet.com/SigmaTel-High-Definition-Audio-CODEC/3000-2110_4-173629.html)
