Always web based eMail...

I tried to activate Windows Mail once in Vista, but there was something wrong on the ISP's side and never got it figured out... Maybe I'll try again...

Seems like it would be better since it offers encryption.

Does your ISP have instructions posted on their website for setting up an email account in certain email clients, such as Outlook Express?

They might, I havne't checked.   I ended up calling them to get the pop3/smtp server addresses which I didn't know, and ended up talking with the person forever.  After configuring pop/smtp I couldn't send/recieve eMails sucessfully and my ISP was telling me to try different things, and the problem was never resolved.  So, they put me through to someone else that might have been able to help and I got disconnected while waiting.  I didn't feel like going through the process of explaining all that crap to someone totally different so I hung up the phone and put it on the back burner..  ;)

I for one have multiple accounts all online. Most are with Yahoo for my general emailing, also have a BT account and hotmail. I use google mail as my website email address.
I do have one email address that is my homepage that I use for day to day chatter with friends, and the massive amount of joke emails I receive and forward to friends.

I mainly use webmail for everything!

    I have:
    - 1 Gmail account for all my main stuff, and 1 Gmail account for work stuff
    - a Hotmail account for shopping, other trash stuff and using Live IM. I got spam on this account 4 days after opening it and I never gave it to anyone! I think MS purposely gave it to spammers!
    - a Yahoo account so I can do things like Yahoo Answers

I also have Mozilla Thunderbird installed on my Ubuntu Linux system for backing up my emails and so I can access them offline.

Note: Microsoft has made Hotmail so it does not work on Linux. It just doesn't load. Cannot even get to the login page. Thanks a lot M$!

Mostly gmail. Still get some stuff in an older Yahoo account.

Too many lost emails in hard drive crashes drove me away from POP mail.

Ask me why I didn't have backups after years of telling people to backup....

Also had a concept to use an email forwarding service so I would have the flexibility to change my email provider without changing my address. I works for incoming, but for outgoing I found messages didn't get delivered because spam filters flagged my mails because the origin address did not match the reply to address. Go figure....

Cute name. I didn't realize the project went that direction until I checked the Wikipedia.
