Blue Screen of death says corrupt driver
« on: January 01, 2010, 06:16:38 AM »
Hi,
I am using Windows Xp sp3 on a Toshiba laptop.
Since a few days back i repeatedly get blue screens which says corrupt driver.I tried to verify my drivers using the verifier.exe in system32 folder but as soon as the computer reboots,I get blue screen again.I have attached the 4 recent minidumps here. Please help me as I do not want to format my computer.

While I am doing regular stuff like browsing etc the error that appears is:

0x000000C5(0x0A210035,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x8055159A)

and

0x000000C5(0xFFFFFFFF,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x8055159A)

When i try to use verifier.exe from system32 folder,it tells me to reboot the computer and i get this error

0x000000C4(0x0000003B,0x00000002,0xF0183EEC,0x00000000)

From MSDN:

Quote
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
An attempt occurred to touch invalid memory at a process IRQL that is too high. This is almost always caused by drivers that have corrupted the system pool. If you’ve recently installed any new software, check to see if it’s properly installed; and check for updated drivers on the manufacturer’s web site.

Why if it's most likely a driver issue ? ?

      Download BlueScreenView
      No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.
