My cd r drive stopped working for both audio and data cds. I thought is was a hardware problem. So I replaced with a new CD RW drive. Still the same problem. The messages are... device not accessible. when i put in a music cd I get...please insert cd into the drive.
Help.
Thanks

Check your device manager. Is there any error messages?

i used to have similar problems, check that the device itself is configured properly to be master or slave [whatever it should be on your system], and make sure the cables are set accordingly as well, good luck.
