About "Would like like to learn how to fight malware?" topic
    « on: January 04, 2010, 04:09:44 AM »
    Hi all.

I'm posting here [i don't think I'll say this right] so as to not add another topic [<- that phrase] in the malware forum, since this is not about removing malware.

2 questions about "Would like like to learn how to fight malware?":
-how come MRU was removed from the list? [if I may ask :)]
    and
-I don't understand how to use "spywareinfo bootcamp"  link ???

    And a "bonus question":
Why is that thread locked?  People can ask questions related to learning how to fight malware there.

hehe, I'm concerned about this 'cos I would like to apply for a course in the near future. wish me luck :)

    Thanks for all your services,
    Two-Eyes %

You said it right, or at least right enough to get the point across. But other than that, we will have to wait for EF to say.

Computer help forums like this always fall out with other help forums, usually something to do with people learning to remove malware not being allowed to help at any other sites until they've completed the course. It's a stupid rule, and I don't agree with it, but it's their rule so if you join you just have to agree with it.

      I see. That's too bad  :-\

      Thanks kpac.

We might want to point the change of link to EF or someone...

In answer to your 1st question the Post is what's known as a "sticky"...an info only post at the top of the page...
It by no means is meant to exclude anyone whatsoever.

Hope this clears that part up.

MRU is still available, anyway, but......

It was removed by request from the MRU staff. They have changed their requirements for enrollment so the link here is unnecessary. Nathans explanation is spot on but this time, it wasn't anything we did or a falling out. Any other explanation will be considered confidential.

If you need a more thorough explanation you will have to ask the admin(s) at MRU. It's not our place to speak for them. Just be aware that they have a policy of not disclosing to any applicant their reasons for refusing an application.

      They moved, http://spywareinfoforum.com/.

      Fixed. Thanks! ;)

      Both explained above.

      And a "bonus question":
Why is that thread locked?  People can ask questions related to learning how to fight malware there.

I felt that the majority of questions we can answer have already been asked/answered. Closing it saves us the repetition of going over the same information time and again...

Anything else needs to be asked/answered by the website you are joining. It's their rules and like anywhere else, they sometimes change without notice and we can't speak for them. All we can do is giv ethe basic information which I feel has been covered.

I added a new link to the list. It's fairly new and should have a quick acceptance/denial process. http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,57605.0.html
