Chkdsk /p does not check for bad sectors. It just could be my short term memory acting up again, but you're absolutely correct that the "p" switch only exists in the RC

    ok thanks for all the help but one more thing?

    After I reboot and it runs  Check disk  and you see the blue screen and it goes through everything and goes down the line.

    will it tell you if there is a prablem  on the blue screen or  wen it gets to windows???

    I just meen if you just run the  chkdsk  without a  Fix switch  I know it will just look for prablems  and tell you   but  how will it tell you    wen it gets back to  desktop  or   on the blue screen??
