Your GIF animation program should show you the options.
Try small size, few colors and few frames. and low frame rate.
Remember some still have 56K dial-up.

Well my GIF animation is only 2 inch by 2 inch

And it has a color pallate of 256 colors.

And it is made up of 42  Image Files.
So if I lower the frame rate  it will drop some frames right??

if your image is only 2 inches by 2 inches then reduce your DPI setting from 320 to 72, then the image will "only" be around 870K.

It's probably better the reduce the number of frames altogether.

I just checked  my gif  animation file  has  a  32 bit color depth.

Should this not be  8. Bit?????

a GIF CANNOT have a 32-bit colour depth. 8-bit is all it supports.

therefore what you are editing is not a GIF file.

I'd imagine it's a BMP with a size like that.

Here is a small animated GIF that loads very fast.
        http://geek9pm.com/art/down_arrow.gif

                            Copy the GIF above.
Look at it with your animation editor. Notice the size.

Good one, Geek-9pm.  Only 2.3KB.  What did you use to create it?

for a bitmap, three 96x96 frames at 8 bpp would come out to 27,648 bytes; geek used a lot of large areas of one colour in the picture, so he got the full benefit of LZW compression.

Good one, Geek-9pm.  Only 2.3KB.  What did you use to create it?
Jasc Pain Shop Pro 8 with Animation Shop.
Drew an arrow with two colors. Copy in into layers.
Moe the image each layer. Ave in older Jasc format.
Open with Animation shop. Set transparency, adjust frame time, save as low color GIF. Link maybe 4 colors. Animation shop shows estimated load times at popular bit rates. I adjust for the lowest, a 56K modem.
Being a slow learner, it took me a awhile to learn this.

No.  Framerate and number of frames are not the same.  The framerate determines how many frames are displayed over a period of time.  You can add or subtract the number of frames without changing the framerate and vice-versa.  Of course, if you decrease the number of frames, you often want to increase the framerate to make it less noticeable...but this also depends on the animation itself.

Jasc Pain Shop Pro 8 with Animation Shop.
This is what I use as well; just a slightly older version.  Paint.NET and Photoshop are both handy for animated GIFs, but nothing beats Animation Shop Pro as far as I'm concerned.
