    RAM DDR Vs Video DDR2
    « on: January 21, 2010, 09:04:28 AM »
    Hi everyone,

My old desktop supports DDR type Ram and has PCI type expansion slot. I am trying to upgrade the graphics for gaming.
Can I install a video card that has DDR2 type memory?

    Thanks
    Rick

    Yes...
The vid card memory does not need to match the onboard memory...

PS You will need to determine what type PCI slots you have available...PCI-E is different than PCI.

      Thanks

      I already checked, I know it's PCI not PCI-E.

You may not find a card for PCI with DDR2 then...
