    blank monitor issue
    « on: January 24, 2010, 11:14:59 AM »
Here is another blank monitor issue.

I turn on the computer and monitor the light on the monitor goes green for about 5 seconds then yellow. Screen is black the entire time. I switched monitors same thing. I also disconnected the monitor (both of them) and got the message "monitor is working".

Since I can not get the monitor to work here is all I can provide regarding the specs.

    Computer: Compaq Presario
    Graphics: Radeon XPress 1100
    Monitor: FS7600e
    Processor: Intel Celeron D 356
    HD: 120 GB
    RAM: 512 MB
    OS: Vista
    Model is: SR2150NX

I was actually doing a system restore. The system was working on its own restoring. I was not changing any settings.

Is this a video card issue? Any way to confirm?

Thank you, in advance, for your help.

Did you try to boot to Safe Mode?

I can not see anything on the screen to boot in safe mode.

Did you try another monitor, or THIS monitor with another computer?

If you have tried 2 different monitors already and your sure the computer is actually booting up I would spend $20 on a video card.

I have tried a second monitor, same result. I also disconnected each monitor and received a "Monitor Working" message on the screen.

It looks like you need new video card then.
