My computer is coming up to 7 months old now but for some reason i have noticed that is has slowed down i know that i have few games on the computer but when I first put them on it was all ok but now is is getting very slow even with quad processor.Hope you can help me like in the past you have fixed all my problems on my computer & my sisters so i TRUST THIS SITE WITH MY COMPUTER'S LIFE & YOUR ADVISE

If that doesnt work you could try reinstalling windows.

I had a similar problem but i got a trojan yesterday and reinstalled XP and it has almost doubled speed.

Then again i couldnt boot up atall so last resort an all...

Of course that is a last resort

so dont do that yet. Hear what harry has to say and also what the others say...

justed wanted to ask harry what topic or where should i start a topic on " i have wins VISTA but wanna shut some programs down 2 make it run like XP cos don't need most of the programs ". i know this can be done but don't know which programs to close i only use this 4 online games & disc games LIKE NEED FOR SPEED SHIFT wonder if i close so of them down the games run better even with the stuff i have on my computer now some seem 2 run funny ?

1. I will be working on your Malware issues. This may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.
2. The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.

2. From the Start menu in Windows select Control Panel.
3. Select Add or Remove Programs.
4. Uninstall any of the following programs associated with Ask.com: (the names may be slightly different)

- Ask Jeeves

5. Click Change/Remove for each and uninstall all found.

Download ComboFix by sUBs from one of the below links. Be sure to save it to the Desktop.

Close any open web browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc) before starting ComboFix.

Temporarily disable your anti-virus, and any anti-spyware real-time protection before performing a scan. Click this link to see a list of security programs that should be disabled and how to disable them.

Vista users Right-click combofix.exe and select Run as Administrator and follow the prompts. (you will receive a UAC prompt, please allow it)

Double-click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, ComboFix will produce a log for you.
Post the ComboFix log and a new HijackThis log in your next reply.

NOTE: Do not mouseclick ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Remember to re-enable your anti-virus and anti-spyware protection when ComboFix is complete.

Important: Close all open windows except for HijackThis and then click Fix checked.

Once completed, exit HijackThis.
