    Upgrade

I bought an old iMac (school surplus) . I watched an iMac upgrade video series on Youtube and would like to upgrade it (the toy factor ya know). But I don't want to dump too much into a dinosaur. I just want to be able to get on the internet, chat, surf, etc.. All I want to upgrade is the memory and the hard drive, Here are the current specs:
    1999
    M5521 Family
    CPU Type: PowerPC 750 (83.2)
    CPU Speed: 350 MHz
    Bus Speed: 100 MHz
    Dimm 0/J13 256 Mb PC133-333
    Dimm 1/J14 128 Mb PC133-333
    Maxtor 6 GB ATA Hdd
    Mac OS X 10.3.9
    Built in ethernet
I will also be buying a copy of OS X. The videos I watched mentioned that the highest version this will run is 4.0.
What I need are recommendations for a hard drive (20 GB or less) and Memory sticks (highest amount this rig will recognize/use) and OS X version. Thank you. RJB
BTW ( I'm a PC, so I have like ZERO Mac experience)
