Should I be embarrassed to say I've never heard of it?  I haven't seen it in any reviews.

Online Armor always gets stellar reviews.

I would recommend it over anything out there either paid or free.

OK, I see the free Online Armor product is a firewall and the paid version includes anti-virus.
evilfantasy has had it mentioned in nearly every single Malware assistance thread he's worked on...

also, Online Armor is classed as a Firewall application, btw.

And, the above reviews are focused on firewall.  That explains why I wasn't finding anything; I was looking at anti-virus reviews.

There are not very many independent firewall test sites but Matousec.com has been around for a while and I don't think there are many people who have solid grounds to disagree with them.

Also Mike Nash is a stand up guy and has never gone the way of "rouge-like" advertising, which is why many have never heard of Online Armor, or given in to the pressure (and money) of adding unnecessary bloatware to his software.

soybean, Just to clarify (as it hasn't been done since you made the statement "OK, I see the free On line Armor product is a firewall and the paid version includes anti-virus."). This is NOT a limitation on the one on the site Allan is presenting today. It IS BOTH a firewall AND an Anti-virus program. Just in case that you might be more interested if it was more than JUST a firewall. truenorth

evil, That is exactly the way i did go. Selected the single edition (59.95--today free) and followed the links. Eventually you get to a place where you must send info to the Co. and then they send you a licence key and a link from within the email to the site for download.Hasn't worked for me.truenorth

evil, thanks will do. But 1st an update to my last. I managed to get to a cnet site that seemed to offer the program. Which i have successfully downloaded. However i notice a great disparity between what was on the manufacturers site and the cnet. The cnet site file size on the .exe is 11.3 mb and the armor site has it at 81.x mb for the file. Therefore i suspect they are not the same. The one on cnet may only be a firewall program? Here is the link to the cnet source=

Finally, From evil's 2nd link i have downloaded a .zip file of 82.5 mb (which looks more like it) and i CAN open the zip file so i believe i now have what i need. Will install later (apparently one has a 30 day window wherein the licence key remains valid). thanks all, truenorth
