Okay. In device manager double-click on the smbus controller. Click on the Driver Tab - Update Driver Button - Do NOT connect to the web - Install from a specific location - and point it to the SMBUSati.inf file then click OK

Okay, from the list below (at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=1817035) install the graphics driver and the modem driver (if you have a modem)

Also, you can now delete the .exe icon from your desktop and the c:\softpaq folder

                    1. downloading the video driver
                    2. how do i tell whether i need the modem driver?  does everest help with this?
                    3. already have the audio driver (that's when i screwed up and didn't wait)
                    4. will also delete softpaq folder

                    thanks.

Do you have a modem? I'm guessing yes because of the yellow error next to PCI communications device. Yes, everest may help - but just look at the back of your computer - is there a place for a telephone plug? How do you get online?
