    System is not booting
    « on: February 03, 2010, 02:30:52 AM »
    Dear Team,

I am having a HCL P4 PC, It is giving some problem.

The problem is when i am watching the movie in VLC Media player in the middle of the movie the monitor automatically switching off and when i try to reboot i am not getting the beep sound(that i usually get when my system is botting).

Please let us know what might be the problem.

This happens once in twice, if i leave the system for 2 days again it will open and in the middle the monitor goes off.

Please give me a solution, I think there is some loose connection on the hardware part.

First thing you need to do is disable your screen saver and the other thing you need to do is go to power option in control panel and set turn off monitor option to never.

        1.  Don't know if this will help, but "VLC Media Player 1.0.5" was released 31 Jan 2010.  See http://www.videolan.org/.

        What version are you running?

        2.  Have you tried advice from ClassicSecurity?

To address the earlier problem, it seems that the graphics card might be overheating, you'll need to check the temperatures. Can you get your full system specs?

Now, it's working fine.  I have just readjusted my RAM and started rebooting.  For the past 10 days without any problem i am working my system and i can view movies without any disturbance.

You sure like to jump around a lot on one post. You should start a new topic so people can see it. And I don't mean to sound rude but have you ever heard of google?   :P  Just do a quick search for free dvd playing software. Or download the decoder for windows media player, assuming you are using windows.

Have you tried the pen drive in a rear USB port ? ?
Does the pen drive show up in another working PC ? ?

I am accessing the same for the past 8 months, from the past one week i am not able to access the same.  I am tring the same from the USB Port only.  Even i have tried from other PC's also, since they have removed the access from my collegues PC's also.

                        Kindly give me a suggestion.

                          Dear Team,

Yesterday, while watching a movie (in my DVD),  in the middle of the movie i got some distubance on the monitor and also  it has given some sound (usually we get while watching live telecast or movie on tv) and suddenly the monitor got off.  After that when i started again my pc has started without beep sound and monitor got on with the greet light after few seconds the light become orange / yellow.  Today again i have opened the cpu and removed the 2 rams and cleaned the dust that has been stored on the RAM.

Please let us know, what will be the problem.

You need to stop posting new problems in an old thread. Just start a new thread for the new problem.
