UBUNTU HELP !!!
« on: February 08, 2010, 10:00:27 AM »
Hello everybody !!

I am doing a project called " CLOUD COMPUTING-Security for Private Cloud Environment "

For which we had to install Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud which will be there in Ubuntu Server Edition CD.

We have to install this in 2 computers, One as CLUSTER and the other as NODE.

This is the first time i am using UBUNTU. I have no previous experience in Cloud Computing as well. There is no one to guide me as well.

I just have installed CLUSTER and NODE, and installed the Desktop using the command
SUDO APT-GET INSTALL UBUNTU-DESKTOP

there is no clear help in the UBUNTU website too.

So please. somebody help me in UNDERSTANDING UBUNTU, COMMANDS USED

PARTICULARLY IN UBUNTU ENTERPRISE CLOUD, GUIDANCE FOR THIS PROJECT, ANY

HELP RELATED TO THIS PROJECT.

I really hope that i will be helped here.

I THANK everybody for your help.

    Hello,

What drags you into that project? Have you ever used Linux before this? I would suggest learning Linux and having some base in networking before diving into that project.

It would help  if your  topic was more specific.

Here is a good general review of this subject.

Note: This is maybe the best review of what is going on.

You can search Google for keywords:
    Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud
    Ubuntu 9.10

This link may have some information you want

This is another general coverage of the topic.
    http://www.infoworld.com/d/open-source/ubuntu-linux-adds-private-cloud-backing-494

    You have three big obstacles.
    1. You  are not familiar with Ubuntu
    2. You are not familiar with Nodes and Clusters
    3. The project is new to the Ubuntu community and is up against more experienced plays, such as Red Hat.

Not to mention that Cloud computing is still a young industry.

Hope you have a backup plan. No, not your data, I mean your JOB!
