which is a better brand between Hp and Toshiba laptops in terms of performance&reliability?

My personal preference is for the Toshiba, I've owned several and never had a problem with the service and support that Toshiba has.

I agree with Quantos. You might find Toshiba laptops to be a bit more expensive, but I have always found them to be sturdier and more reliable than many other brands.

I've never had to deal with Toshiba service and support, but I have dealt with HP's support several times and I have to say I'm not impressed. Every time I've talked to them I seem to get some cocky jerk who doesn't hesitate to blame anyone or anything but HP.

Oddly enough, i disagree. I prefer HP over Toshiba. I have had bad experiences with Toshiba. When I was deployed to Afghanistan, Toshiba gave me a lot of issues with warranties and were completely rude in my opinion when it came to ordering replacement parts. While HP, among other computer companies were quite helpful.

Then again;

Performance = Toshiba
Reliability = HP

Obviously they are both major brands and experiences with either will vary. Pick whichever has the features you want at the price point you want and I'm sure you'll be fine.
