1. In Settings - Apps - Default Apps - Make sure Firefox is selected as your default browser

2. At the bottom of the same page click on "Choose Default Apps By Type" - scroll down to both .htm and .html and make certain Firefox is set as the default app for both file types

Click on OK or Save and exit. If that doesn't fix the problem, I'm at a loss.

& now it's stopped working again! I've tried applying the solution that I used before ( https://www.slipstick.com/problems/this-operation-has-been-cancelled-due-to-restrictions/#google_vignette) but it hasn't worked this time  >:(

Any help with finding a permanent solution would be very much appreciated!!

Hardware / Re: SSD Not Detected In Startup
« Last post by sloan448 on February 12, 2024, 03:34:56 PM »
I figured it out. After I disconnected all the other HDs in the computer it booted to the current ssd. One of the drives has an operating system installed on it and I think it got confused. It's an older HD that I haven't taken all the files off I want yet.

Hardware / SSD Not Detected In Startup
« Last post by sloan448 on February 12, 2024, 11:58:34 AM »
I have a weird thing going on with my computer. I just took the "current" Ultra M 2 ssd main drive out to put the old one in to get some files off it. When I put the current one back in as the main drive the computer won't detect it in the startup. I put the old one back in and it detects it fine, I am using it right now. I put the current one in an external drive and it shows up and I can access it.

Why would the computer suddenly not see the "current" drive but does the old one?

The current drive is a WD Black SN770 (1tb). The one in the computer is a WD Black SN550? (500gb).

The motherboard is an ASROCK.

Hardware / Repair information for older Canon Printer
« Last post by Janis on February 11, 2024, 06:17:04 PM »
I finally gave up and am saving money with a laser printer but it has limitations.   My Canon printer 5700   was great.  I could change sizes and other print choices.   Shipping that printer back to Canon is extremely expensive for shipping, and high cost of repairs.   Has anyone seen written instructions for removing covers?   The printer functions are fine,  but I suspect a paper jam that I can not see.

Hardware / Re: HD - Cloning

The third partition on the source is a partition created by windows to allow windows to reverse any problem updates. it is needed but with the latest update 2h22 it is to small in size needing to be about 1 Gb.
Instead of copying the partitions select copy disk this will resize the c drive to use the free space leaving  the first and third partitions the same size. After the drive is copied and the copy is tested booting. Then you can resize the 2 nd partition slightly smaller by 500 gbs and then resize the third partition out to 1 gb
