hard drives

i recently had a couple of hard drives crash , one just stopped working, loaded with vista ultimate,, the other was infected loaded with XP...is there any way to retrieve the info off these drives ? any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Connect them to a good computer via external hdd / scan for viruses :o / get your stuff.
    I have principles.  And if you don't like them...well...I have other principles!!
