Best DVD Ripper?

Hey guys,

I am looking for a good/the best DVD ripper. I am happy to pay for it as well but I am in need of one because I need to make a backup of the DVD in avi format, so I can convert them into other files for my other little toys (phone, archos, etc.) I need to make sure it converts to avi.
