I summon your brains! Help me!
    « on: April 17, 2010, 09:10:39 AM »
Okay, I've just reformatted my other computer 'cuz I had a virus that killed everything on my Hard Drive.
Now, I've just re-installed Windows XP.

    And. Oh my stinkin' gosh.
No cards are detected. Nothing. I just hate it.

    My two majors issues are:
    No sound card detected.
    No INTERNET card detected.

How do we... "configure" so our internet car connection or whatever we call it.
I've looked into the "Help and support" but, nothing fits. It is ironic because most the help available is on internet.

Then, what we do for the sound card?
    Help me.

I'd guess that you need to install your drivers.  Do you have the driver CD that came with the computer or motherboard?  If so, stick that in your CD/DVD drive, and run it to install them.
If not, please post the make/model of your computer or motherboard and we can help you find the drivers you need.

      Well,
it is a old intel Pentium 4.  2.60 GHz, 2.61 GHz, 1.5 GO RAM, and about 76 Go of memory
I'm not sure if that's what you meant by motherboard...
I'm French, so I'm not sure about the terminology.

      qqs ptits trucs...

How can I know which Mothercard I have?

'cuz... I have to update my computer and everything... but, if it depends on this card, how will I ever know what programs or driver to use? ??

He wants to find the drivers for the main aboard with the network.
Hes needs to find the model number of the main card, the mother board.

Well. there are two mothercards download. I extract them, without any problems,
Then, I explore the file and there is a setup for the driver to be installed.
But, when the installation is almost over it cancels.

It is saying that my mothercard can't run this driver (or something like that)
            I'd need to go check.

But, also, I installed the network card but... nothing happenned. I still don'T have access to internet
