    Internet Connection
    « on: June 05, 2010, 09:27:42 AM »
I have a fairly new (less than 1 yr old) HP Intel Celeron Windows 7 laptop. I am having trouble staying connected to the internet. (wireless). My signal strength is "excellent" (or that's what it shows me when the cursor is placed on the internet icon). But it is very frustrating when I am working from home using the internet to connect to my billing system from work or trying to play my games and be in the middle of one and everthing just sits there and you know you have lost connection. But even more frustrating is the fact that we have two more computers (laptops) here in the same room and neither one of them loses connection ever.

    Thank you for your help
    Patty

Did you check, if same thing happens, when you hardwire laptop to the router?

Also move your router to a centrtal location with in your home and don't set it neer a wall close to the middle of the room if possable

Broni, I do not lose connection when I hardwire my laptop to the router.

      UNSCSpartan3,
The router is very centralized, and we have not moved it for about 3 years now. We have the desk top connected to it. The three laptops can all be in use at the same time and mine is the only one that loses connection.

I just don't know what to do......

      Thank you,
      Patty
