    ram problem
    « on: July 08, 2010, 07:29:09 AM »
I have an old Dell Dimension 4100 series (Win XP), which still serves me well. I just purchased another 256k-ram module (PC133) for £6 from ebuyer.com to increase total ram to 512k. I’ve just slotted it in but when I start up my PC I just get a glimpse of the desktop icons before it shuts down. BIOS is showing 2 * 256 PC133 ram.

I’ve taken it out. Is there anything I can try?

    Thank you.

Try the new stik by itself in the 1st slot...
If it does the same thing it's a bad stik.

Thanks patio. Just tried it and it still doesn’t work, so I’ll give up with that.
