Two Windows users , one will not go to websites
    « on: October 11, 2010, 09:27:01 AM »
I have a computer that is a friends, she has herself and her husband as users in windows...

If you pick her name, it will not connect to any websites,, if you pick the husbands it will act normal..

I just got a flash driver to download all malaware, spyware and free antivirus programs to put on it and see if it fixes the issue,

What my question is has any one ever had this issue?

    Thanks,

SS, It is a HP pavilion, OS is Windows xp,

His name you can go to websites, and get online , no problem,

Hers will not go online, it says there is a connection, i am using the ethernet cable from my router.. but will not surf the web,,
So I am figuring that one of the game sites has messed with the settings,,

My puter i can do whatever i want online,
She has a huge amount of games and online casinos downloaded,

There is no anti virus or malware or spy ware program on it, so i am using mine to download them on a flash drive to try to fix the connection issues....

worse comes to worse i can delete all of her items, and let her use the husbands name,,

I have never seen where one user can get online and the other cant..

There could indeed be a virus or malware involved, personally I would have thought that it would affect both profiles.  I guess anything is possible though.  If you want to verify it go HERE and follow the directions and post the logs in THAT forum.

        FYI,

I ran the scans, for anti virus, malaware ect,,

then i copied husbands connection setting and made hers the same..

Now we have internet connections with both users..

        Thank You,
