Extending PSU wires
« on: December 12, 2010, 12:48:38 PM »
I have a power supply that doesn't reach some of the plugs on the motherboard. Is it possible or dangerous to do so. I have some soldering and wiring experience.

thanks

You would be better off buying suitable extension cables

Yeah, thats a good idea. Is there a cable that converts a 4pin CPU  plug to a 8 pin CPU plug.
This is because i bought the EVGA nForce 780i and didn't know that i was supposed to have a 8 pin CPU plug

Just do a Google search for a supplier in your country

PS you didn't need to quote my whole post complete with pictures

Actually no. This http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,113603.0.html asks if the PSU that i posed will fit be compatible with the BFG nForce 780i.

And this one were on is talking about if it is save to Manually extend wires on a PSU.

I still did it and came out with a PSU that i already had and is now usable with this motherboard.

Thanks?
