Audacity error
« on: February 16, 2011, 09:52:34 PM »
I have Windows Vista and have been using Audacity without a problem until now. I get this message: Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate.
How do I fix this?

Hi jpasseri,
I have a couple of questions, what revision and or service pack is Vista, did this problem surface after a MS update, what version is audacity? OK three questions,...

Also, do you get a specific error code from audacity and can you take a screen shot of it, what sound card is your system equipped with,

In windows you should be able to get this info right click "my computer>property’s>hardware manager>
sorry, been a while since I've seen Vista, you will likely have to look through the tabs on the top of the property’s dialog
