Audio Device does not work

I am having an assembled computer with Intel Core 2 Duo processor and Windows Vista software. I had to reformat the hard disk. Now the audio is not working in my computer. Please help

Run the driver CD that came with the motherboard, or go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and download the drivers.

    I was having audio issues after upgrading to Windows 7, but after downloading and installing the high definition audio codecs here:  http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
    the problem was fixed.
