The Ask.com toolbar isn't malicious but it does get installed sometimes without the users permission. That's why it is flagged by some malware scanners. If you installed it or if you use it then it's fine. If you don't want it > How do I "uninstall" the Ask Toolbar?

Hey,

I sometimes use AVG ThreatLabs - www.avgthreatlabs.com - to check if some sites that I want to browse are safe. It rates ask.com and the page for downloading the toolbar as probably safe. I hope this helps you.

Welcome to computerhope, and thanks for the insight. However, this is a three year old thread. It is generally not recommended to post in a topic that old.

Thanks
Thomas
