    Screensaver
    « on: July 25, 2011, 09:32:37 PM »
Every time my computer sleeps or shuts down, the screensaver resets so that the wait time is 1 minute, but it never actually comes on.  I have to reset it to my desired 10-minute wait, and then it works fine, until the next time it sleeps or shuts down.  How can I stop this from happening?

The chances of a screensaver getting corrupted are next to nil, unless the computer is accidentally deprived of power when the screensaver file is being read.

    try this...

Okay this is weird- now instead of the screensaver, I'm getting a black screen and the text "Windows could not start this screensaver."  I didn't change anything...

I would suggest disabling hibernate, sleepmode or any power saving features until your issue are resolved. Instead, try using another task "idle" when computer is not in use. Depending on your OS,this can be found under Customize or Personalization Panel.
