    BSOD
    « on: November 07, 2011, 04:42:52 AM »
    Hi
I'm getting a BSOD when ever I turn on the computer.
But the second time it reboots it loads fine.
    What could be causing this?

Do you have any USB devices connected?
If a desktop, does it have a card reader?

One of those is causing the BSOD.  Unplug one at a time until you find out which one.

I tried unplugging all USB devices one by one and the problem isn't fixed.
          Got another BSOD:

Go to Start/Run and type in sfc /scannow...
Have your Windows CD handy as it will ask for it...
When it finishes remove the CD and re-boot.

              OK.
After a re-boot is everything back to normal ? ?
The next 2 suspects in line would be the RAM ...or a flakey PSU.

For the RAM DLoad and run MemTest...let it run at least 2 hours...any errors at all and you have a bad stik of RAM.

To test the PSU borrow a known good one and swap it in there overnite...make sure it is of the same or greater wattage...if the BSOD's go away you have found the culprit.

Sorry for the really late reply.
I ran memtest,  and it turned out that the first stick of ram was bad.
So I swapped it, and everything seems to be fine now.
                  Thankyou, ;D
