    « on: October 27, 2011, 08:53:06 AM »
I have an hp pavilion dv9700 laptop. the cd drive died, then the hard drive. i just got a new hd and theres a weeks delay till my cd drive arrives. i have been trying in vain for the last 14 hrs trying so manny diferent ways to crate a bootable windows 7 pro x64 for this  damned thing. ive created an iso of the install disk useing power iso. ive tried Windows7-USB-DVD-tool, unetbootin-windows-563, Novicorp WinToFlash 0.7.0020 beta and probable 3 other failures ive deleted since then. im just trying to install windows 7 using a usb here.  ive also got pirate garbage of me and xp pro and an original 98 on cd. i can used my desktop obviously and have been trying to use this to create. the spec are horrible and everything i try takes about an hr to load for a 15 second failure. can i get some advice please.

Buying a new computer would be a lot easier than trying to do all that stuff! :)

Have you checked in the bios that the machine can boot from a usb flash drive ??? as the Windows7-USB-DVD-tool works a treat as I have used it on many ocasions

You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me

I would list all my equipment, but I fear I will be burgled.

It said "To begin, please boot your computer". I now have a broken toe !!!!!.

Win2Flash should work - I've used it many times. http://wintoflash.com/home/en/
And make sure to check again the boot order in your BIOS. You must be doing something wrong.

Buying a new computer instead of doing something that requires only some clicks?

Do you have a friend with a laptop? Windows 7 can install from a network.
