    Take the following steps;

    1. Tools.
    2. Account settings
    3. Outgoing server (SMTP)
    4. Obtain the SMTP details from your E-mail provider.

You only need one SMTP server per Thunderbird client, no matter how many E-mail adresses you add.

Who is your Internet Service Provider? Sometimes, if you look on thier website they show the server settings you need...

      Hi

This is my internet serv provider

      http://www.elitecore.com/24online.htm

But i can't see such settings there.

      Another question:

Can i ping my isp's ip address without entering windows (i.e from DOS)?

if my isp is not giving internet connection it is tiresome to check when
he is giving the connection by restarting computer and each time waiting for
      the windows to load.

I'm having a hard time finding it myself, but I don't know what plan you have, etc. I would say to call them... Also, I'm sure there is a program out there that will allow you to ping without DOS, but I have yet to come accross, or search for such software...

I doubt network drivers are loaded in DOS.

I never worked with that program, but in the CMD prompt you need to use the command ping.

Not quite certain what you mean by that. If you experience difficulties, contact your provider. The same goes for obtaining the SMTP or POP3/IMAP information.

        Hi Raptor

recently my isp's many devices were destroyed by thunder and they are resetting the network ... hence they often closes the internet connection and give it sometimes later.... then i have to check whether  the internet connection is there by starting my PC ... and then wait for entire windows to load... because i can ping from windows dos prompt... if the connection is not there... i close my pc ... i again start my pc... again wait for the windows to load.....................

if i could ping without entering windows then it would bebetter to check that...

it is not possible to phone them again and again asking whether the connection is there.

Thanks for answering my other questions

Like I said, I do not think that network drivers are loaded under MS-DOS.
