    In responce to my earlier question about my grandson losing my drivers.
    He also lost vista and put xp on.
    Is there anyway I can get vista back on without having to buy it.
    he's left me in a right mess

    He needs to be taught to respect other people's things...
    That being said tell us what PC this is...it may have a hidden recovery partition...

    Meantime check the Owners Manual...it may tell you.

      Well thanks to those of you who have tried to help me.
      Looking on the back of the computer there is a serial number
      I think this should reinstall vista but how do I do it.
      At the moment I have xp on. I want my vista back and the
      help page says to get te serial number from the back of the computer.
      but I dont know what to do next

          see if Acer has a recovery CD available through their site.  They should have something you can order for around $20 that will come with the OS and the software set back to factory settings.
