i would like to know what causes videos and music to play real choppy

it has been going on for awhile. when i play videos on you tube or msn or music its realchoppy its not streaming real good

This is one of those issues that can have a variety of causal factors. Some of them are a deteriorating video card/a heat issue within the computer/failing or inadequate RAM/a slow internet connection to name a few. Insofar as you can there are things that YOU can do to test or address these areas to see if they are causing the problem.truenorth

Try clearning browser history.  Also, using Windows Disk Cleanup or a file cleaning utility such as CCleaner may help.
