Problem with shortcut
« on: May 09, 2013, 06:59:52 PM »
I have a folder on my desktop named READ where  I have links to items  I want to read when I have time.   When  I click on a link I get a message box - problem with shortcut - with the following message: the  target of this internet shortcut is not valid.  Go to the internet shortcut property sheet and make sure the target is correct.

How do I correct this?   Thanks much. :)

Also let us know how you are moving these items/links to this Read folder...
That may be the issue...

I am on IE9.  Do not care for IE 10 as it gives me too many IEcannot display the web page and I have to go to  Microsoft Fixit too often.  Have tried other browsers - opera, firefox but like the IE  9

Try this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/168124
To drag the icon which is found before the url address, minimize the browser then open the folder (minimize also) to your current or use another folder just in case. Much better is to bookmark or use IE Add to Favorites on webpages you would like to revisit. Make sure to create a folder to organize your shortcuts http://browsers.about.com/od/internetexplorertutorials/ss/add-to-favorites-ie9.htm
