Windows 98 se sound issues...
« on: October 22, 2005, 01:52:16 AM »
I am not getting any sound and do not even have the sound icon available on the task bar at the bottom.  I have attempted to upload new drivers, but do not have the original win 98 se cd-rom, so I guess I am stuck?  In the device manager section, it has a ?  PCI multimedia audio device and other devices, and does not show any sound, video, controller icon.  Also when the computer boots up a message appears that says: Conflict I/O ports: 2F8...any help with this would be greatly apprecitated.  Thanks. ???

Download Everest Home Edition to find out what your sound card is.
    http://www.lavalys.com/
Then use Google to find the drivers that suit your OS.
