When I log off my computer does not respond. I have to do it manually. Any advice as to how to resolve this problem?

Do a CLEANUP first of all, and then make sure that APM is enabled in your Power Settings.

I have windows xp home ed. When I click restart the computer does not go off. I have to put it off manually.
I have ' cleaned' it up but the problem persists. Help needed please.

AMP is the abbreviation for Ampere, a unit of electrical current.

APM = Advanced Power Management. Control Panel Power Options.
