Missing CD Driver
« on: January 17, 2006, 11:02:12 PM »
Hello all.

There are two computers in my house, the brand new one (Which I'm using now) and the old one (Which is almost dead, but still works). Today I had decided to use a CD to transfer files from a very important folder from the old to the new.

All went well until I went to My Computer. I found My Documents, C Drive, and Floppy A Drive, but no D or E drive. I rebooted, and found them again. 30 seconds later, they disapeared.

So I went to Device Manager. No sign of a CD Drive. I went to Add New Hardware. Again, the same thing. Even my friends are stumped. The only thing that makes this even tougher is that I'm being timed, too. Later this week, a person will come to fix the wireless router and wipe the hardrive of the old computer for it to run like new.

Now, does anyone know how to get the CD Drive back?
