hard drives

i have just plug my new hard drive in as a slave, with the jumpers in the correct position, i can see it in device manager, but not  in my computer. i have tried to update drivers but nothing is better. any ideas????

You have to partition and format the drive to have it usable under Windows. Use Disk Management tools in Windows, whatever version you have. You didn't say what version, but in Windows 2000 to open Disk Management, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management. In the console tree under Storage, click Disk Management.
