my laptop sucks :(

hi every1
i have a problem with my laptop,
its a toshiba satellite p10, and ive had it for about a year and a half (therefore warranty is over  ) it keeps on shutting down on me when i try 2 scan the system, or playing dvds n stuff. ive checked it out on the net, and i read that this is due to overheating and a common problem with toshibas   i read that u have 2 get compressed air and clean out the fans and a thingy... dont kno wat its called... well anyways, i was just wondering if anyone could confirm that this is the actual problem and thats the solution...
also is it easy for me to take apart my laptop... im not very gd with comps tbh, so am hoping its an easy job? dont really wanna pay £££ 2 get a shop to do it, if i can do it myself.

With no experience this is not a time to start practicing. Toshibas are not easy anyway, and laptop repairs by a user are not recommended unless you don't mind ruining it if something goes wro

o.... ok then   will give it 2 a shop. at least that way i can blame them if something goes wrong

Don't use your laptop on your lap, use a flat hard surface so the air flow doesn't get blocked.
Try scanning in Safe Mode.

oo, good news, i actually have a warranty for 3yrs (my clever dad) n not 1 like i thought. so just gonna get them 2 sort it out once my exams r over. btw, dont use it on my lap, its always on a flat surface. looked it up on the net, n sposdly its a common problem with all toshiba's...
