Optical mice seem to be the standard-seriously.  Mice with balls are difficult to find anymore...just think of it as the "feminization" of mice. :P

Does  OPTICAL  mean the balls are on the top ?   I HATE THAT !!!!!!!   Too much  manual dexterity.   Will I not find a wireless with balls on the bottom ?

No - the things with balls on top are trackballs.  By "optical mouse" mouse people are referring to the mice that emit a light from their base.  This reflects on a surface; the reflection is then measured, and by this means the mouse detects motion on a surface.

You can still buy wireless mice with balls.  Try eBay.
