Computer not starting up
« on: July 18, 2006, 01:44:49 PM »
Hello all,

I'm having a problem starting up my computer, it worked fine until earlier today, when someone didnt shut it down properly. When I tried to get back on, the computer started up, but it just stops before I reach the main XP log in screen listing the different user accounts.

It's just not working, but the powers on and the monitors fine, and I even get the standard Packard Bell logo with 'press esc to run etc...'

But after that, Nothing.

Can anyone help me out?
Thanks

Operating System? Can you get in Safe MOde? How about running some free diagnostics from the manufacturer's web site for the hard drive? Do you have a real Windows CD if that is necessary?
