AGP card
« on: August 20, 2006, 07:17:15 PM »
I was just wondering what you thought of this card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102492
and if it's good enough to run bf2 on all high (including x6 AA)..
if you think theres a better one under 200$ than tell me..
Only one I think could be better is a 6800 XT, but I doubt it's better.
This card looks like one of the best AGP cards.

The people who bought it seem to like it.

There are 314 reviews from people who actually bought one:

Between that and googling for hardware reviews, there's not a lot that anyone can add.

What are your other specs? BF2 uses a lot of RAM.

Edit: haha the forum automatically changed by bad word into a nicer one. Well I rewrit it anyway.

I have 2 and a half gigs of RAM.
I'd say I have enough to run pretty smooth, but I guess it's being bottlenecked due to my video card.. x1300. Also have a AMD Athlon 3200+ .. in my opinion it's overrated, I myself have never really liked it. Maybe mine is faulty?

That is enough ram for.... anything basically. You never really liked what? The graphics card or the processor?

my processor.. im not sure if it's being bottlenecked either, i dont think there is anything that could besides my ram.. it got like 98% good ratings (5 stars) on newegg worst rating was like 2 or 3 stars..
I had a AMD Athlon XP 2000+ and it was muuuchh better. I know that shouldn't be.

Having Newegg rate your computer is like having GM telling you what car to buy...

That is odd. Maybe on your old processor you were just running games that were less demanding? I have Athlon 64 3000 and my computer runs fine.

No, it's not really a decrease in performance in-game.. it's more of when I'm surfing and multi-tasking on my computer, that's where I notice a decrease.
